She Undoes was recorded at OGM Studios in Nashville, produced by Grammy award winning Charlie Chadwick of the John Jorgensen Gypsy Jazz Quintet. Featuring twelve original songs, a duet with Cliff Eberhardt, and a unique bass and voal arrangement of Joni Mitchell’s “A Case of You”
“Bernice is a soulful songwriter, with a voice full of light and hope. That combination makes for a powerful artist, and a beautiful record. She is really one of the keepers of the flame of Real Songwriting”
Rosanne Cash
“Triumph! What a great CD” Bernice’s life if filled with beautiful, deep things, and she writes beautifully and deeply about them. Good Kind of Love is wonderful; spoke right to my heart! All the songs had relevance, all the way up to the great, jazzy cover of Joni Mitchell’s A Case of You. She has new wings with the genres she’s been exploring, musically and vocally.

Isle of Spirit, produced by Adam Rothberg, (Dar Williams), was hailed by the Berkshire Eagle as Bernice Lewis "most mature, successful recorded effort to date." Featuring such radio-ready material as "As Soon As It Stops Raining" and "Moses and Me", the diverse collection of songs, which garnered a three-star review by Seth Rogovoy in the Boston Phoenix, also features the western-swing novelty, "Red Cowboy Boots", the hauntingly heartbreaking Holocaust song, "Ways To Survive" and "Bridges That Hold", a ballad that one critic has called "an instant classic."

Featuring new classics like "Normal's Just a Setting on the Washing Machine" and "When the Guru was Around", this recent release is peppered with appearances by an all-star cast of national musicians, including Dar Williams, Ellis Paul, Jennifer Kimball, Brooks Williams, Mark Kelso and Alisa Fineman. The clarity of the writing and the sophistication of the production make "Religion and Release" Lewis's best album to date. There's not a bad note on it, nor any song that won't hold up to repeated listening. Seth Rogovoy, Berkshire Eagle
Highly recommended, one of the 10 best I've heard this year. Alan Rowoth, F_M Digest
Lewis' finest achievement. It's a winner from every angle. Roberta B. Schwartz, Folk & Acoustic Music Exchange

Open Lines and Signals - David Johnson of New England Folk Almanac calls this recording "a small masterpiece." Produced by Peter Gallway (Cliff Eberhard, Aztec Two Step, Laura Nyro, Louise Taylor), it features Bernice's cover of Michael Smith's Dead Egyptian Blues complete with horns and Andrews Sisters-like harmonies. This album also includes I Need A Wife, Too co-written with David Wilcox, as well as other originals. Back-up musicians are Cosy Sheridan, Cormac McCarthy, Ed Gerhard, Susie Burke and David Surette.
